Laundry Services in Kazakhstan: How to Wash Clothes Efficiently and Without Overpaying in 2026

Washing clothes at home is no longer always cost-effective, while using a laundry service can save you a lot of time and money. Self-service laundry
You load the washing machine yourself. This is the cheapest option for large volumes.
Example prices (Almaty / Astana 2026):

washing up to 10–11 kg — 600–2800 ₸ per cycle;
drying separately — 700–1200 ₸.
Suitable for families washing 15–30 kg at a time. The downside is that you need to travel there, wait 1–1.5 hours, and pick everything up yourself.

Regular laundry service (with an operator)
You hand over your items, and the staff do the rest. The price is charged per kilogram.

Advantages: hypoallergenic detergents, clothes from different customers are not mixed, SMS notifications.

Dry cleaning
Uses solvents instead of water. Needed for wool, silk, suits, membrane down jackets, and decorated garments. Price is charged per item (a down jacket costs 6290–8990 ₸ at Mamalama). It does not replace regular washing.

Washing at home is cost-effective for small volumes (up to 5 kg) if you have a good washing machine and enough time.
Using a laundry service is better if:

you wash 10+ kg per week;
you need to wash bulky items (blankets, throws, curtains);
you do not have a dryer or do not want to iron;
you live in a rented apartment without a decent washing machine.

A delivery service is the better choice if your time is worth more than 300–500 ₸ per hour.

Check the following:

What exactly you are paying for (washing only or the full cycle).
Minimum order amount (some services require 5–10 kg).
Turnaround time (standard is 3–4 days, urgent is 24 hours).
Whether drying, ironing, packaging, and fragrance treatment are included.
Restrictions on items (some do not accept fur, leather, or heavily biologically soiled items without an extra fee).

Care label — if machine washing is prohibited, say so immediately.
Photograph the item from all sides (especially stains, worn spots, and hardware).
List all existing defects on the receipt.
Ask which washing mode they will use (for wool, down, and membrane fabrics, a separate mode is needed).
